A little before dark Jackson’s Brigade was ordered to support Cleburne’s division in an attack. It formed on this ground on the right of Deshler’s Brigade of Cleburne’s Division, and advanced into action, pressing the Union line back some 600 yards were the firing ceased, and the brigade returned to its former position and bivouacked for the night. Taken into action Sept. 19, 1285 officers and men.
